mini pumpkin pies.

I wanted to try something a little different this year at Thanksgiving.. I was in charge of 'pies' & you know me and my love for mini foods..

what you will need: (makes 12 mini pies)
  • pumpkin pie filling for one 9-inch pie
  • 2(boxes) 9-inch pie crust doughs – pre-made from a box (ROLL OUT KIND)
  • bowl or round cookie cutter 4 inches in diameter
  • muffin tin
  • whipped cream
1. Cut circles in dough- 4 inches in diameter.

2. Mix pumpkin pie mix - I used an easy mix.

3. place dough into pre-greased muffin tin-- press in and pinch the sides up.

4. score the bottom of the dough to keep the crust from bubbling up while baking.

 5. stir filling well before pouring into pies. Fill to top.

Bake your muffin tin pumpkin pies at 425* for 15 minutes.
Then turn your heat down to 350* and bake them for 25-30 minutes.

6. Top with whipped cream, share & ENJOY!!

DIY Advent Calender.

I have been working on this the past week so I could be done with it before December got here!
I made this Advent calender or could even just be used as a countdown to Christmas.
It was a really easy project too!

instead of chocolate I decided to go with little ornaments- the girls can put on the tree each day.

I glued ornament hooks between the two pieces of  paper.
I had tons extra from a few Christmases ago, but I know you can get a pack of 200 at Target for $1.

I found the paper at a local craft store & the ribbon too.
I cut out tag shapes and doubled up the paper so the back looked pretty too!

I ran out of ornaments for the last two days, but my husband had a great idea of doing special ornaments for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.. What a great idea- I think my creativeness may be rubbing off on him.

Although, he is making me wait until this weekend to put up all our Christmas decorations, I wanted to share this before the holidays!!

Hello Friday!!

The girls and I had a fabulous day today.
not just because the weather was perfect, but also because I have a new toy to play with this weekend.
I 'borrowed' (rented) a lens- the 85mm f/1.2L II USM to be exact for those of you who care.
I have three session this weekend & I really wanted to test this baby out.
I absolutely love the images I got with it.
It was even super bright and spotty shaded lighting which I hate but
I was still able to get some great shots of the girls today.

clowns & cupcakes.

I finally have a minute tonight to blog about trick or treat!
We had so much fun--
and we lasted a whole 45 minutes!!
We went around the block & to a couple neighborhood faves.
my mom came trick or treating with us too!
as you can see in the background daddy was already enjoying some candy

Josie held on to this candy for dear life

the sky was beautiful that night

Josie.. still holding her candy.. was pooped by the end

Maddie had so much fun- even when she saw the scary costumes!

since the girls don't eat the candy we have so much left over.
and I know I have been snacking on it way too much!
since I love a cute cupcake I just decided to make some.
I froze some snicker bars and crunched them up
then just sprinkled them on top of chocolate iced cupcakes that I made.

..we gave the cupcakes away to friends & family.

I had extra cake batter left over so I just added some frozen blueberries in and
made some mini muffins for the girlies.
..& of course this little girl found it!

{don't worry she didn't eat the paper!}

& a cute picture of my husband cooking dinner...
.. with a toddler on his shoulders.. that's impressive :]
