Random Thoughts & Fishing.

Today is rainy and the house is quiet [I'm sure not for long though].

{photo by Dina Goldstein}

.. that is how I felt at the end of the week..
[sorry babe- it's not you, it's me]

Today is a great day though. This weekend my 'BFFE' growing up [and current] is in town from Las Vegas with her baby girl. Maddie just loves baby Lily. We miss them so much, I think all of our friends are going to try to go out for a drink tonight.I think the last 5 times we have seen each other either her or I was pregnant, we need to have a little fun.

I have been checking emails and browsing the blogosphere..

First I got sucked into this adorable backyard wedding..

..then into these birthday party theme ideas.

I HAVE to share this recipe from Darby, I made it last night- [yes that is where I got the easy asain recipe] ... I followed the soup recipe exactly and I even made the homemade tortillas & chips with it. Super easy.

The girls and I had a playdate yesterday with a couple of girls I went to high school with & their kids. It was a lot of fun, not akward ;]
Morgan [who is also a photographer] had her camera out and got some cute pictures of Maddie & Josie.
{Thanks Morgan- I already printed them out and framed them haha}

I can't believe how much Maddie looks like my husband in these pictures.

The little girl's playroom is coming together great! I can't wait to share it,
just a couple more things to finish up in there.

Well Josie is up from her nap, I knew the silence wouldn't last that long.

Well I'm back, yes I'm adding this a few hours later, but I have some time to sit and relax before I go out and nothing good is on tv. We ended up going to my husband's friend's house for his birthday. We ate, had a couple drinks and did some fishing. They have a beautiful house with a little fishing pond & horses. We went last year too, it was really nice. The rain held off for most of the afternoon.

This cupcake was definetly Madeleine's favorite part.

The fishing was definetly my husband's favorite part.
[Bry caught 6 fish and I caught 1!]

Watching this sisterly love was definetly my favorite part..
Maddie was teasing and running circles around Josie who was strapped in, but she thought it was hilarious.

We did get rained out though..

I had a couple cute pictures of Maddie from the playdate the other day too.

Part II and Projects.

Part II. Ok here are a few fun pictures from the birthday party..

They had a huge boucy in the front yard, it was a huge hit too. Maddie [in the middle in the top pic] had a blast and pretty much was in there the whole time with the big kids.

Projects.
I have been working on redoing our patio into a playroom for the girlies. I wanted to put some cute art work in there but didn't really want to spend any money on anything. I had $20 and went to Joann Fabrics to get some spray paint & look for a cheap chalk board. I found the perfect color and for only $0.97!!! So I got excited, but apparently they don't sell any chalkboards only the chalkboard paint. So I bought that for $6.99 and a big framed shadow box [not very deep though] from the clearance aisle.

I had these old cheap frames, don't even remember from where, so I spray painted them this cute light blue. I got the "art work" from the Eric Carle book The Lamb and the Butterfly. Unfortunatly our copy was already missing a couple of the pages from Maddie getting to it when she was a baby, but at least it came in handy and we can still enjoy the pretty pictures! I loved the way they turned out, what do you think?!

I can't wait to hang them and put together the chalk board!

Last night Maddie and I made some coffee filter butterflies. It was probably the easiest thing ever.
Color with markers, dry, pinch together and twist on some pipe cleaner.

I think I will hang them in the playroom :]

When we were coloring on the coffee filters Maddie was drawing perfect smiley faces.. I couldn't believe it.

Last but not least I had to share this easy Asian recipe from Darby,
it was delish & made plenty of leftovers. As you can tell Maddie was excited for it..

Part I.

Happy Birthday [party] Twinies!!

We went to our favorite [little] twins birthday party today.

It was so much fun and they really went all out for their birthday this year! I just wanted to put up a couple pictures tonight & more to come tomorrow, I got so many good ones!
They had a homemade "photo booth" outside.
I added the effects and it turned out really cute, what a great idea!!

The boys' mom, Carmen did such a great job putting this colorful and candy-filled party together, no detail was left behind. We all had so much fun!!

Pictures & more.

Another lovely Saturday. We went back to the street market this morning for brunch. Everyone here slept in until 9:50am [that's what happens when the girls stay up late at the babysitter's] but I won't complain, it's Saturday!
I have a bunch of pictures of Maddie & Josie I uploaded tonight & wanted to share, because they are just so darn cute.

Maddie had her first Ice Cream truck experience last week, of course daddy bought her some ice cream, and of course she screamed to eat it before dinner.
[but she did NOT get her way]

I love getting pictures of the girls playing together.

[ps. I made that skirt for Maddie from an old dress of her's, isn't it adorable?! She loved it.]

Josie was enjoying some of her sister's applesauce.

I've been working on the girls playroom &  they were super excited to run around in there this week. Can't you tell by Josie's face?!

"The perfect shoes can change your life." - Cinderella

Today we played outside in the sun. Maddie was "taking pictures" just like her mama..

My Sweet Josephine..

I'm going to save these pictures of Maddie, and when she asks me if she can get her lisence at 16, I'm going to say no. She was screaming "I'm almost bye-bye, Get me outta here."
[I swear my road rage is under control.]

She managed to cool down to help Daddy water flowers & spalsh her piggies in the puddles.

I ended my Saturday getting pedicures & drinking wine with my wonderful mother-in-law & sister-in-law.
But before I left, this was going on.. does this not just scream TROUBLE?!
[as J crawls out of the dog cage]

I came across & fell in LOVE with Caroline Tran's photography.
These pictures are beautiful, I love her aesthetic.

I'm thinking about making a couple of these for Bry & myself.
He pulled his neck and I pulled my back, we're both cripple over here.

I made this artichoke chicken this past week & it was a big hit.
