Perfect day for cupcakes.

...but what day isn't the perfect day to make delicious & cute cupcakes?!

I was inspired by the cupcake shop that I did an engagement session at..

They had these amazing chocolate cupcakes with pink peppermint icing.

My sister in law recently gave me this cupcake holder, so I just had to make something to fill it!!

I originally wanted to make chocolate iced and white iced cupcakes, but I bought two chocolate icings on accident-- but after I tasted these I am sure it was meant to be that I bought chocolate because these are p.e.r.f.e.c.t.

 I just used good old Betty Croker cake mix.. Extra Moist!!

I had a bunch of candy canes I just left them in their wrappers and crunched them up!

I mixed the candy cane into the chocolate icing.

For half of the cupcakes I just spread on chocolate icing (with no candy cane) and sprinkled some candy cane on top-- super cute!

 For the half of the cupcakes with the candy cane icing I just sprinkled on some red sugar for decoration.

 ..oh Hello Josie..

 good thing there was an extra cupcake for her :]
