One year ago & 1st birthday plans.

I was clearing out an old SD card and started looking through all the pictures. They were from last year, I found a couple pictures from exactly one year ago. Sometimes I miss that baby belly.

I cannot believe that it has been a year, I feel like I was pregnant with Josephine for forever. Maddie was 16 months old when Josie was born so as you can imagine, it was a little tiring, but I wouldn't change any of it. Everyday I look at them together and think about how lucky they are to have each other.

Here is a picture from the first time Maddie [officially] met her baby sister.

I have been thinking of ideas for Josie's 1st birthday party. Here are my thoughts..

Theme: May Flowers & Ladybugs
[I was inspired by the girls' new ladybug shoes & her birthday is May 20th]

I'm counting on nice weather so we can grill out: hamburgers & hotdogs
& sides that go with a picnic/cookout theme

I will definetly have a little ladybug cake for Josie but I really want to do an ice cream bar instead of a big cake. We will just get a few flavors of ice cream and lots of toppings for people to make their own, that is always fun.
This simple game idea of  'put the spot on the ladybug' would be easy to do for some little ones.

and I love these invitations by My Good Greetings -

all of their cards are eco-friendly, printed on 100% recycled card stock.

*I think we are having her birthday party Sunday May 16.. I had a different date here & didn't want to confuse anyone who was coming.. :]

xo

ps. we got our new dry delivered today, I'm in love. It is huge compared to our last one and the clothes come out extra fluffy & warm :]

Love the birthday theme! Can't wait to see all the creative things you will come up with for it :)

P.S. There was a lady bug pan at michaels to make a lady bug cake!
